Hi, I'm Julie ... artist, photographer, potter, etc. I am so happy you are here! I consider this blog my creative journal where I can share my recent work, ideas and dreams, and lots of little details about my life. Please make yourself at home. Whether you are a bride-to-be, a photographer, or just a visitor, I hope you will find inspiration here and even become a friend. |
First comes love ... then comes marriage ...
Nick and I aren't quite ready to push a baby carriage of our own just yet ... but we sure do LOVE being an Uncle and Auntie! And since my best friend Brandy just recently gave birth to her sweet baby boy ... I'm an Auntie again!!!
This is Jasper Roan Shelton
I love photographing babies because they grow and change so quickly. For the first month of a baby's life its almost like every day something is new and different. I have never been a mother so I can only imagine what it feels like to hold my very own sweet little baby and feel the fleeting moments pass as they grow older each second. That's the very thought that inspires the choices I make when I take pictures of a baby. And I love focusing on the teeny details that are not easy to catch (cause most babies like to wiggle a lot). These details are so precious to a mommy and daddy who's little baby will look completely different in a few weeks.
Jasper has the prettiest, most perfect little fingers and toes, eyelashes and lips.
Jasper is curious, cuddly, and captivating!
Brandy and Josh did an awesome job preparing for him ... Brandy made the letters of his name and Josh painted the mural on the wall.
Big Sister Maple also did a great job preparing for her baby brother ... She threw a bed jumping party!
I will leave you with a smile.
Dear Jasper, some day when you are a big reader you might find this blog post. (Or maybe your mom will print you a little copy for your memory books.) I just want to leave you a little note to say that you are one very loved little boy. Just in case it isn't absolutely obvious (and I'm pretty sure it will be) I feel impressed to let you know that you are surrounded by so many people who love you. In just a few years we will all stop and realize that you just went from being a tiny baby bundle to a curious little boy ... someone will make a comment about how quickly time passes or they might compare you to a weed ... and then before we know it you'll be tying your own shoes, writing your name, and passing up milestones left and right. Through out your life my prayer for you is that you will find belief in God, confidence in yourself, and an unmistakable security that comes from the love of family. You are surrounded by all of these good things. We love you so much! Love, Auntie Julie and Uncle Nicky!
