Heather Larsen and Andrew McDonald are getting married this June. I feel so privileged to be their photographer.
Both Heather and Andrew are elementary school teachers and one of their favorite things to do together is read. Andrew reads aloud and Heather listens. Andrew says this is just one of the many things that make them "dorks" ... and they just embrace it. I think its one of the many things that makes them adorable!
So on a day much like this ... Andrew was reading to Heather on their little blanket in the park of Sequoyah Hills ... and he decided to ask Heather to be his wife.
The book was "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" from The Chronicals of Narnia ... which has a special significance to Andrew and Heather.
When I am around a couple that is madly in love ... I am so moved when I pay attention to their way of being together. I love noticing the nuances and details of what makes their relationship special and genuine. This is the most inspiring and important thing about what I do. And its the part of my "job" that makes me really happy.
Andrew and Heather are a beautiful couple ... and they have a beautiful way of being together.
Obviously they are easy on the eyes ... but their beauty as a couple is evident in so many more ways. Just pay attention. See the way they look at each other.
See the way they are affectionate ... the way she laughs with him.
See the comfort they have in being so close to each other.
See the tender, careful way they touch and kiss.

I know this next image is soft on the focus... so for your technical photo geeks out there don't fault me. I love that subtle blur because the whir of being deeply in love feels just like this photo to me. It is ethereal in its madness and joyfully intangible. This is my favorite image from the session.
Heather and Andrew have a way of being together that is careful. They protect and honor each other.
The anticipation of their wedding is great! I am so anxious for them to be married!
