Hi, I'm Julie ... artist, photographer, potter, etc. I am so happy you are here! I consider this blog my creative journal where I can share my recent work, ideas and dreams, and lots of little details about my life. Please make yourself at home. Whether you are a bride-to-be, a photographer, or just a visitor, I hope you will find inspiration here and even become a friend. |
I am getting kinda stir crazy with all this cold weather ... and I have been brain storming lately. I have so many beautiful brides booked for 2011 and even more exciting ideas for creative sessions. Since its going to be a few months before I can really develop those ideas ... I thought I would post a blog to look back at all the beautiful brides that I photographed in 2010.
... Beginning with Amy Grover. This wasn't a real wedding but a styled session that I did along with Jessica Claire at her workshop in Orange County, CA in January 2010. This shoot was so inspiring and it was a wonderful way for me to begin the year!
At the end of January I had the awesome opportunity to shoot Kelli's wedding in Key West, FL. What a wonderful place to be in January! This was my favorite moment with Kelli for sure! I never imagined that she would actually pick the turtles up!!! I love a fearless bride!
Melissa and her doe eyes ... what a beautiful bride in March.
I love a veil in the wind ... this beauitful bride is Angela.
In April I met with Charlotte to do her bridal session. It was a beautiful day and there were a lot of beautiful images but this was one definitely my favorite. Its striking to me for so many reasons ... I just love the strength of it because its so rare to see a bride portrayed that way. I also love this image because I feel like its so original and unique to Charlotte's personality. It wasn't inspired by another photo I saw somewhere else ... it just happened and it was just so Charlotte.
Savannah modeled for my first workshop, Personal Professional. She was SUCH a gorgeous bride!
So adorable ... this is Tiffany in the garden at Sampson's Hollow
Whitney's wedding was in May ... and we met before to do this bridal session. Whitney is so gorgeous ... and she also happens to have the most fantastic accessories ever! The camera loved Whitney and I loved her shoes!
In June, while on a family vacation, I had the awesome opportunity to meet Megan in St. Augustine, one of my favorite cities. It just doesn't get any better than a sunset bridal session at the boat dock.
And then of course there is Brooke. I could say so much about this girl! Photographing her wedding had such an impact on me and my business. Working with her was so inspiring ... she is full of life and love for everyone around her. I love this girl! And she just happens to pose like a super model.
Simply stunning Maria at blackberry orchard in June.
This adorable image of Lisa was taken at her wedding in July at Hunter Valley Farm. I loved the parasol detail ... and I love it when brides bring details that have personal meaning to them.
Perfect portrait of Valerie. I loved her dress!
Peaches and cream Katy ... I love this super soft and lovely image. It doesn't even hint at the level of heat we managed to deal with that day.
And a perfect bridal portrait of Dawn ... one the very few shots you'll see here of a bride in a church. Its just not usually my style ... but this one is so beautiful.
The next one was a beautiful styled session with a real bride ... Kati ... under the apple tree with one of her favorite books.
Perfect detail of Maria and her bird cage veil. So ethereal and comtemplative ... beautiful Maria!
Here is Brooke again modeling for my cemetery whimsy inspired shoot.
This is Taylor ... absolutely glowing on her wedding day in August ... rocking my signature bridal head shot.
So, so pretty in Chicago ... this is Erin. It was such a joy to be a part of her wedding.
Finishing off the hottest summer I've ever experienced ... this is Mallory looking amazing despite the heat in that beautiful summer sun light.
So happy to see September ... the beginning of fall and my favorite time of year. The fall weddings I photographed in 2010 were so wonderful. Beginning with Kari ... I loved everything about her antique, country themed wedding.
This is Tammy and I love this photo of her ... she is just radiant and happy. That's how a bride should be on her wedding day.
I will never forget Kelly and Andy's wedding. I was moved by thier ceremony and blessed to be a part of that day. Here is beautiful Kelly at Maple Grove Inn
Another favorite bride ... Melissa ... September is always a good month! After being long-time friends online through a photography blog ... Melissa actually had me come all the way out to California to photograph her wedding. Not only did I get to finally offically meet her ... I also got to share in her wedding preparations the days before the wedding. We had so much fun and her wedding was spectacular and so unique. LOVED this portrait of her beautiful smile!
This is Amy ... so pretty with her Lisa Foster Bouquet at The Bleak House ... in magical October sunlight
Surprised by another bride who could second as a super model ... Emilee reminded me that I am SO lucky to get to photograph so many beautiful brides.
One of the most beautiful days of the year ... perfect weather and amazing location (Maple Grove Inn) ... this is Megan
Breathtaking Claire in a hand made dress by Colleen at White Orchid Bridal
Braving the cold in November ... Danielle modeled for my second Personal Professional Workshop. Despite the chill bumps she was radiant and gorgeous to photograph!
And my year was complete with a holiday wedding in December ... this is Heather shining in a stunning gown with another amazing bouquet by Lisa Foster.
