Hi, I'm Julie ... artist, photographer, potter, etc. I am so happy you are here! I consider this blog my creative journal where I can share my recent work, ideas and dreams, and lots of little details about my life. Please make yourself at home. Whether you are a bride-to-be, a photographer, or just a visitor, I hope you will find inspiration here and even become a friend. |
I am so happy to share one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever photographed. There is a LOT of eye candy here AND a really sweet little interview with the bride and groom. Enjoy!

Three adjectives that describe your wedding day are:
Elegant, Classic, Unforgettable

Invitations/Programs: The Happy Envelope
Bridal Gown: Winnie Couture Atlanta
Bride's Shoes: Badgley Mischka
What significant traditional elements did you include?
The most significant traditional element would be wearing my late Grandmama’s jewelry. She passed away in 2011 and she was the rock of our family. Being able to wear something of hers on our wedding day was so special and made me feel closer to her. When my dad and grandfather saw the pieces of jewelry, they both couldn’t help but get emotional.
Earrings: Adriana Orsini
Hair and Makeup: Bangs and Blush
What was the most emotional part of the day for you?
Christina: For me, the most emotional part was seeing my mom and dad for the first time dressed as a bride. I am an only child so it was bittersweet and it was a moment I will never forget.
Groom's attire: JoS. A. Bank
What were you most looking forward to about your wedding day?
We both couldn’t wait to see each other all dressed up for our first glance. The anticipation and excitement of seeing the dress for the first time was something we both looked forward to for months.
Was there a moment when you knew you were in love?
Josh: I knew that I loved Christina the first time she went camping with me. I realized that I had a girl that was stylish and classy but also didn’t mind going a few days without a hot shower. When she started picking up sticks and branches for the fire to help me get it going, I just knew she was a keeper!
Was there a moment when you knew you were in love?
Christina: For me, I knew I was in love with Josh the first time I saw him interact with his three nieces. The love he has for them and visa versa is something that melted my heart instantly. Hearing them call him “Uncle Joshy” and listening to him answer their questions and have conversations with them made me realize that he not only made me happy in our relationship but that when we have children one day, he will be the best dad.
Bridesmaid's Dresses: Monica’s
Florist: Samuel Franklin
What was your favorite thing about planning your wedding?
For both of us, seeing Christina’s vision come to life by seeing all the working parts and pieces come together was by far the best part about the planning process.
Did you do any DIY projects?
Yes, the largest DIY projects that we completed were the Christina and Josh gold framed sign, 50 pictures frames spray painted gold and the cedar wooden cross at the altar.
Tell us about your wedding music choices
Christina: I chose Angel Eyes by Jim Brickman to walk down the aisle because when I was a little girl I remember my dad and grandmamma loved how beautifully he played the piano and Angel Eyes was their favorite of his songs.
What was the most emotional part of the day for you?
Josh: The most emotional part of the day for me was seeing Christina come into sight as she walked down the aisle with her dad. The excitement was unmeasurable because I couldn’t wait to marry her!
Officiant: Howard Walker
Do you have a favorite moment from the day?
Josh: We had a lot of great moments throughout the day but my favorite moment was exchanging our vows and her placing the wedding band on my finger for the first time.
-What was the funniest thing that happened?
Josh: Christina had a hard time getting my wedding band on my finger because I have larger knuckles. She was fighting the tears with a huge smile on her face as she struggled to get it on my finger.
Do you have a favorite moment from the day?
Christina: I had plenty of amazing moments from the day but I would have to say that my favorite moment was when we were introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Sullivan and had our first dance as husband and wife!

Who was your favorite vendor and why?
Gosh, that is a hard question. It is hard to pick just one because we both loved each and every one of them for specific reasons. Ogle Entertainment did such a phenomenal job with lighting the Carriage House as well as keeping the party going with great music choices and personality. Samuel Franklin’s floral arrangements were absolutely perfect. From Rehearsal Dinner to the Cross to the wedding party bouquets, it was simply stunning. All Occasions Party Rentals really did an outstanding job with the elegant draping at the pergola and inside the Carriage House. All Occasion Catering’s food was delicious and the guests kept talking about how tasty everything was. Cheryl McMillian Cake Designs really impressed the guests and us with how beautiful the cake turned out. Every time I turned around, someone was snapping a picture of it. And last but certainly not least, Milestone Pictures and Julie Roberts Photography were great because they stayed with us every step on the day and captured our most precious and candid moments. Those are the moments we will be able to look back on as often as we would like and always smile and remember when…

Josh: We went back and forth on our first dance song for months. Christina and I couldn’t decide on a favorite song because we had so many. On the way to the beach in July she made it a point to pick a song. We listened to every song on the list and ended up choosing “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong because it’s classic and reminded us how lucky we are to have found each other and how wonderful our lives will be as Mr. and Mrs.
Any unexpected surprises on the day-of?
Christina: For months and weeks before the wedding my dad would not tell me what song he wanted to dance to for our Father/Daughter dance. Little did I know, he and Jim Ogle with Ogle Entertainment were planning on surprising me with a song that my dad had picked out himself. He asked Jim to make sure to keep it a surprise. The song was absolutely perfect – Daddy’s Angel – T Carter

What is the one thing you are most happy you splurged on?
We are most happy that we splurged on the draping in the Carriage House and at the Pergola as well as the fireworks!
