|Hi, I'm Julie ... artist, photographer, potter, etc. I am so happy you are here! I consider this blog my creative journal where I can share my recent work, ideas and dreams, and lots of little details about my life. Please make yourself at home. Whether you are a bride-to-be, a photographer, or just a visitor, I hope you will find inspiration here and even become a friend.|
I will confess ... I have been keeping this wedding a secret for a long time. I was holding on to it at first because it is SOOOOO special and I wanted to wait to share it at the perfect time. THEN it got picked up for print in Flea Market Decor and I wanted to wait until after the publication. Then I just got busy ...
But finally I am sharing this most beautiful, sweet, homemade, genuine, creative, thoughtful, southern, perfect wedding day that belonged to Olivia Wood and Justin Mertz.
Olivia is especially special to me because she has been second shooting with me for the past four years. Or is it five? She was my office manager before I moved to Lexington ... and she has done tons of work as my editor for the past how every many years it's been. Most importantly she has been an incredible friend - and without her hard work and loving support my business wouldn't be what it is today.
But as it turns out that Olivia is special to A LOT of people ... especially Justin. It is inevitable really - just to know Olivia is to love her. Her beauty shines but it's no match for her sweet spirit, sincereity, silliness, and unending creativity. Funny because all of those things also describe her wedding! I have loved so many weddings but I would be really pressed to say that I enjoyed photographing any wedding more than this one. The personality and the unique details were just a dream.
Here is Olivia's list of vendors and family/friends to be credited for making her wedding happen:
Catering: Organicism Farms and Foods
Desserts: Cake from Magpies, and other assorted delectables from the wonderful women in my family
Flowers: My own and my mom's backyards, along with Kroger Florist, provided the flowers--my sweet mommy arranged the bouquets and I made my floral headpiece
Tent, chairs, and tables rentals: Rentals Rentals
Venue: My dad and step mom's home
Invitations: I designed and had printed the invitations. Justin and I made a stencil and hand painted each one
Dress: A second hand shop called "Wear Else"--one of my favorite finds, fit me just right and was $87!!!
Lace Cover Up: BHLDN
Hair: Alison Stapleton
Makeup: Katelyn Comer
Evening entertainment by A Different Spin Circus and Fire Arts
And finally ... I'll hush and let the photos do the talking!
