Wedding :: Yanci Dennis & Scott Williams :: Married on a Mountain Top :: Gatlinburg WeddingYanci Dennis and Scott Williams said "I do" on a gorgeous summer Sunday evening. It was a beauitful event ... Yanci and Scott actually went to grade school and high school together. But she practically ignored him all of her life. She even deleted him from her facebook TWICE. Thankfully Scott was persistent and after a conversation about a year ago, something sparked and they fell in love.
Yanci included a few significant traditions and details such as the six pence she wore in her shoes - which was also carried by all of the women in her family. And those gorgeous pearls belonged to her grandmother.
Finding the dress is always an interesting experience and often results in the unexpected. Yanci picked out her dress on the first try. She intended to find something simple and actally made a "yuck" face when the sales clerk showed her this dress. But after she tried it on she said it made her feel gorgeous and her dad even said "this is it!"
What was your most memorable moment of the wedding day?
Yanci: When I walked down the isle, at first I could not find Scott. When I saw him I felt relieved and so happy. I also felt the sentiment of sadness because of my dad giving me away. It made me tear up, especially because he was crying.
I knew that Scott was the one for me when he leaned into me in front of my parents and said "I love you" for the first time. I knew at that moment that if he was able to express himself in front of my family, then he was the man for me. It felt so comfortable and just ... right. Scott makes me feel protected and safe.
The reception was at
Almost Heaven Resort ... and I'll just let the view speak for itself.
Yanci's mom Patty actually made the reception centerpieces and I thought they were just so lovely.
A very emotional dance with her dad had everyone in tears.
What's next for Yanci and Scott? We are looking forward to travel and whatever life throws our way! We are both so happy to have found the person that not only accepts us but loves us just as we are. We encourage and support each other. We don't agree on everything but we are always open and listen to each others ideas. For the time being, we are just here loving every moment God gives us and enjoying being married!
