My Life :: The Other Side of the Lens :: Our Bridal Session on the FarmI am SO EXCITED to finally be posting these images!!! I definitely plan to post more about the actual wedding day ... but for now I want to share some pictures from our bridal session done by my friend and amazing photographer
Shannon Kelley.
As you can imagine, when it comes to weddings, I've seen everything! When it came to planning our own, Nick and I were 100% committed to making our day personal which resulted in a lot of non-traditional decisions.
The first of many non-traditional elements: we knew we wanted to see each other before the ceremony. Doing a "first look" has become a trend in wedding culture these days that I really appreciate. We took this concept a step further and chose to see each other two weeks before the wedding for our bridal session. Its not often that the groom is included in the bridal session but we loved this decision because we just didn't have the time on the wedding day to do portraits like these.

Nick was very specific about how he wanted to look ... and I loved having his input. After lots of searching, we ended up finding his suit at Dillards ... it's a linen, three piece, with pin stripes. My mom actually made the bow tie ... which I think gave it the perfect touch of personality. I loved the color. I think Nick looked so charming and dapper. What a lucky girl I am!

Lisa Foster Floral Design
The chicks belong to my parents!

Lisa to do a bouquet for me which gave me a great chance to preview the flowers.
My hair was done by Bethany Yongue.
My make-up was done by Claire T. Balest.
These two ladies made me feel beautiful!! And Claire even stuck around for the whole shoot to make sure my make-up was perfect the whole time. I am so glad she was there!!

White Orchid Bridal. Colleen added the lace collar and sash with a cameo detail which inspired the color scheme of our whole wedding. I absolutely loved how Colleen took my dress and made one-of-a-kind and perfect suited for me.

The tree of life was a symbol that we used through out our wedding (our invitations, centerpieces, etc). I was so happy that we found this perfect little tree standing alone in a field. We used the top left image (below) on the backs of our ceremony programs (another really handy thing about having your bridal session before the wedding).
So, that's all for now. I definitely plan to share more images from the actual wedding very soon.
Thanks so much to Shannon Kelley for being awesome and doing such an amazing job on these images. We love them!!! And we love Shannon!!!
