This is Charlotte and Chris - who goes by Critter. It was fun to get used to calling him Critter. Their wedding is going to be May 30th and I just know its going to be full of really special moments. Charlotte sent me the cutest email about how excited she was to do the engagement session. I knew it was going to be fun because when I asked her what kind of location she wanted she replied by saying that she loved everything! I love people who love everything!
I want to include Charlotte's telling of her engagement day: enjoy!
My dream in life has always been to get married! I imagined my wedding
day from as far back as I can remember. My dream has come true...I am
marrying the man I have dreamed about and prayed for in seventy one
days and counting : )
September 27, 2009 was the day and oh my IT WAS
A BEAUTIFUL DAY! I had been out of work and life for a couple of days
due to the flu, but on Sunday morning I decided I needed to get back
into the rhythm of life. I woke up and the first thing that came to my
mind was..I am getting engaged today. I knew there was no chance. My
oldest brother was getting married the very next weekend..my other
brother in December..so I thought NO WAY that would be chaos!
I texted my now sister-in-law saying I have convinced myself I am getting
engaged today..please talk me out of it because I know it is not going
to happen! She responds with lay off the tamaflu! Love her.
So, I get ready..looking cute just in case! Critt comes and picks me up for
church and we go on just like a normal Sunday. After church we went
and picked up some Lenny's (My very favorite!) and took it back to his
neighborhood and had a picnic on Cherokee Boulevard. Yes, I wondered
why we didn't go to lunch with people after church but I was so
excited to be with him I did not care too much.
Neither of us ate much of our sandwiches because he was nervous and I still had
stuck in the back of my mind he was going to propose. He asked if I
wanted to take a walk down the boulevard and so we did ... he had a
backpack on his back. He looked so outdoorsy to be walking down
Cherokee boulevard. HAHA!
We walked down to Talahi Park and as we were approaching I knew 100 % I was
about to be engaged. At that moment I started praying ...
Lord, please let me experience, feel, and remember
these next few moments. As we walked up to the rod iron gate there was
a red rose going through the door..it was word vomit for me at this
point ..."shut up, you are so about to propose to me are'nt you?" Of
course he laughed and said "shh" ...
I walk in the gate and rose petals are
beautiful leading up to the bench with mums decorating it. We sit down
and he shares his heart for awhile, and next thing I know he is down
on one knee with a beautiful ring in front of my face! I have never
felt so overwhelmed by someone's love in my life. Yes and thank you did
not seem like enough to respond with. I was speechless. It was a day I
would never change! We met with family later for dinner and had a
party at my parents to celebrate afterward! I am blessed..oh so
blessed!!!
