Ryan & Christine are engaged!

I really loved photographing this stunning couple! Christine and Ryan are getting married at the end of July ... and I am totally looking forward to their wedding. They are such a beautiful couple and they have so much more between them than just the good looks! They are completely mad about each other and its so evident in the images ...

Christine and Ryan ... thanks so much for having such great ideas and for being SO easy to photograph. I had such a great time with you guys and I can't wait to see you again soon!

Katie + Devon = Married!

I knew I loved Katie the moment we met. We actually met at Panera Bread a year ago to consult about her wedding. Consultations usually last about 45min to an hour ... but Katie and I sat and talked like old friends for almost 3 hours. From that day on I was looking forward to Katie's wedding ... I knew every detail would be so special and I was not disappointed. I was also looking forward to meeting Devon ... because of the way Katie's face glowed when she talked about him ... I knew he would be so special and of course I was not disappointed.

The day began with yoga.
I love that!
There really is no better way to start out ... centered, refreshed, ready to go!
I love these two images paired together ... joyful and zen!

A little something blue for Katie ...
(oh! Izzy was with me this day and I have to say no one photographs a pair of sassy shoes better! ... love you Izzy!)

I mean seriously ... this pair of bridal portraits melts my heart. Isn't Katie just breath taking!

Katie and Devon chose to see each other before the ceremony. (My favorite!) This next pano is Izzy's shot from the bridal tower of Devon seeing Katie for the first time ...

And this on is mine mine mine ... Ilove it!

Because Katie and Devon chose to see each other before the ceremony we had a little extra time to explore the AMAZING property at Maple Grove Inn. Poppies?!!! Are you kidding me?!!!!!

The wedding location was the exceptionally beautiful Maple Grove Inn. Im telling you this place was stunning at every angle and around every corner.

Katie's signature drink for the night was the seriously delicious Cotton Candy Martini ...

Look at that deviously happy little bride ... what is she thinking ?

Thank you so much Katie and Devon for allowing me to have such an important responsibility on such a precious day. Thank you and both of your families and friends for making me feel so welcome! I thoroughly enjoyed your flawlessly fun and beautiful day! Ill be talking to you soon!

Everyone, be sure to watch the slide show! Also ... leave me some love by clicking on the word "comments" at the bottom of this post. I miss getting comments!!!

Izzy and Martin - The Wedding

Oh man I am SO excited to finally be posting this wedding! I was looking forward to photographing it for so long. After two bridal sessions and a pre-wedding bride + groom session ... I was thoroughly prepped to photograph the wedding of my dear, dear friends Izzy and Martin. Many of you who follow the blog know exactly who Izzy is ... but just to re-cap ... Izzy began working for me as an edit assistant about two years ago. She is an incredible photographer ... here is a link to her blog. She slowly advanced to second shooting weddings with me and eventually became my best friend. I have no idea what my life was like before I knew her! But now I have to figure that out because she and Martin are preparing to move to Spain for a little while. Yes, SPAIN!!!! I don't want to talk about it. (tear!)

On with the wedding pictures ...

This is Beverly ... Izzy's mom ... preparing to help Iz into her dress. I love how pleasant and calm Izzy looks while all those brides maids are primping and fussing.

My assistant for the day was none other than the fantastic Mrs. Rachel Watson! Thats right ... Rachel, my office manager! I just decided to train her as a second shooter "just in case". Rachel willingly accepted the challenge and I am SO proud at what a talented photographer she is! Her work is thoughtful and very sentimental. Honestly, Im not surprised at all. Rachel gracefully masters every task that she takes on. I don't know what I would do without her! This next shot is one of Rachels and its my absolute favorite shot of Izzy getting ready ...

Just in case you hadn't seen enough portraits of Izzy from her three previous sessions (snow, savannah, savage garden) here she is in all of her glorious bridal beauty:

Major note: the funky, fresh, and completely lovely flowers were done by none other than the amazing LISA FOSTER of Lisa Foster Floral Design. I can never say quite enough about this lady ... she is my number one favorite florist in the whole world. On top of that I just love who she is. (XOXOXO LISA!!!)

Since Martin and Izzy had already done a portrait session together ... they had no qualms about seeing each other before the wedding and doing a few more! I just couldnt get enough!

Oh, and just in case you were wondering ... the wedding itself was actually held in Elizabeth City, NC at a little bed and breakfast called The Pond House Inn. Quite honestly ... it was practically perfect in every way! Gorgeous, quaint, lovely, accomodating ...

Baby Miles was the first to officially congratulate Martin after the ceremony ... what a sweetie!

What a cake! And what a smash! The cake was done by my favorite baker, Angel Adkins of Angel Cakes and Confections ... it was delicious and beautiful ... and perfect for smeared cake kisses ...

A healthy dose of drinking and dancing ensued under the tent as the sun set and the stars shone. It was a perfectly wonderful day! Congratulations my friends!

Andy and Jenny - engagements

OMG I LOVED photographing this couple!!!!! I can't wait for their wedding (at Twin Cedar Farms) this September! This is Andy and Jenny ... and no they are not professional super models, but who can tell?!!!

I tell ya! I am the luckiest photographer in the world ... somehow I manage to have the most gorgeous clients. Jenny and Andy are gorgeous AND photogenic which makes my job as hard as eating cake.

weird or cool, i dont know:

These two were just so darn cute! A lot of people get so intimidated by having their picture taken. You seriously don't have to be a super model to be photogenic. I think the most photogenic couples are the ones who are unashamed to be playful and loving with each other. If you can focus on loving each other well then the photos will be genuine and that makes them extra magical! I think thats why I loved Jenny and Andy's session so much ... they were just so good at being in love!

Ubaldini Wedding

Yes!!! I am finally doing a wedding blog! I do not have any photo shoots this week so I should be posting something every day and making a bit of a dent in this massive work load!

I am so excited to show you Shannon and Mike's wedding ... it was so beautiful! If I had to sum up the day in just a couple images it would be this pair:

The wedding venue was the absolutely beautiful Twin Cedar Farms (here is a link). This was my first time photographing at this location and I am thrilled with it!

You know that I love photographing people and details ... but I am not sure I have ever really expressed how much I LOVE to photograph animals. And lately ... horses are just EVERYTHING to me! I thoroughly enjoyed photographing the horses and the other animals at the farm ...

I got a little distracted by the animals ... but don't worry I definitely got plenty of shots of the real deal. Check out Shannon ... isn't she a stunning bride!!!! I just LOVE this girl!

Sneaking up on the groom for the "first look". (I am so happy that these two decided to see each other before the ceremony!)

Shannon is so stunning! I think this photo is so sexy!

Shannon's mom Kathy (I hope I spelled it right!) was SO hilarious and kept everyone in hysterics - including me behind the lens.

I do love a ceremony full of laughter ...

Thank you to the heavens for clearing away those nasty grey clouds. It was threatening to down pour on us ... but it totally dried up and turned into something beautiful:

I've heard many style mavens say that its all about the shoes. I disagree ... I think its all about getting rid of the shoes! I do love a bride who can kick those jokers off!

Oh and my assistant for the day was Brittany. She did a fantastic job! This was Brittany's no shoes shot ... I LOVE it!

This one, also Brittany's. Beautiful:

Ben & Julia

Ben and Julia are getting married in Johnson City in just a few weeks. I can't wait for their wedding - they are SO much fun to photograph! We did the first half of their engagement session in Jonesboro which I love for its colors and undeniable home-town feel ...

For the second half of the session we went to Ben and Julia's new house! Its SO adorable! And Ben and Julia just showed me some of the ways they like to pass the time together. I love how natural they are together and how comfortable they look in these photos ...

The Dickison Family

Ahh ... The Dickisons! I absolutely LOVE this family! They were one of my very first portrait clients several years ago when Karisse was only 6 months old. Now their newest addition, Callie, is 8 months old ... and this family just keeps getting more and more beautiful. I adore them!
